General Hospital has made a big casting announcement that is sure to have fans excited. Eva LaRue, known for her role as Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children, is joining the show as Blaze's mom. LaRue, who recently appeared on The Young and the Restless as Celeste Rosales, will be playing the character Natalia Rogers-Ramirez.
The news of LaRue joining General Hospital was first reported by TVline, and fans can expect to see her debut on Monday, February 26.
Natalia's arrival in Port Charles could potentially add drama to the developing relationship between Blaze, played by Jacqueline Grace Lopez, and Kristina, played by Kate Mansi. The two women are currently facing some obstacles in their relationship, with Kristina serving as a surrogate for her sister and Blaze struggling to open up to her family about her orientation.
Although LaRue is best known for her role on All My Children, where she played the character Maria on and off from 1993 until the show's finale in 2011, she also had a successful stint on The Young and the Restless. In fact, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Guest Performer in a Drama Series for her role as Celeste in 2020. LaRue was married to her late All My Children co-star, John Callahan, and they have a daughter named Kaya.
In addition to her daytime roles, LaRue has also appeared in primetime series such as CSI: Miami and Fuller House, as well as movies like A Killer Walks Amongst Us and Finding Love in Quarantine. Her new role on General Hospital will reunite her with several of her former All My Children co-stars, including Cameron Mathison, Michael E. Knight, Finola Hughes, and James Patrick Stuart.
LaRue's arrival on General Hospital will coincide with the reported debut of new head writers Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte.
Soap Hub extends a warm welcome back to daytime for Eva LaRue. Fans can't wait to see what drama she brings to Port Charles!
