Country singer Trace Adkins recently defended fellow country artists Morgan Wallen and Jason Aldean against accusations of racism in an appearance on comedian Bill Maher's Club Random podcast. Adkins dismissed claims of racism surrounding Aldean's song and music video "Try That in a Small Town." Critics argued that the video contained racist imagery and was filmed in front of a courthouse where a Black man was lynched in 1927.
Adkins defended Aldean, saying he had no idea about the location's history and claimed that the choice was made by the director for aesthetic purposes. Adkins also addressed Wallen's racist slur scandal earlier this year. Despite facing backlash and being banned from various platforms, Wallen's popularity soared and he sold out multiple stadium shows. Adkins expressed his belief that both artists are not racist, having spent time with them personally.
